College Station helping homeowners control mosquitoes

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) – Each year, the City of College Station helps homeowners and neighborhood associations protect people and pets from mosquito-borne illnesses by providing larvacide dunks to those who want them.

The dunks help kill mosquito larvae wherever water tends to stand and stagnate.

Larvacide dunks come in packs of four and can be broken up and scattered over multiple areas.

Communications Director Jay Socol says the idea is to get all homeowners to pick up a free larvacide dunk and create a sort of barrier in their neighborhood to protect not only themselves but their neighbors as well.

The dunks can be picked up at city hall.
